Art Educator

During my graduate year at FSU, I took a variety of graduate classes including Art for Life, Art Theory & Practice, Critical Analysis, Museum Education, Contemporary & Historical Issues, and Program Development. During the Spring 2022 semester, when I was a student teacher, I had the privilege of interning at Florida State University Schools with the resident elementary art teacher, Egda Claudio. From my time in FSU's art education program, I realized how keen, talented, and excited children become when creating art. That is what drives me to do my best to teach students art.
After I graduated, I got my first job as the art teacher at Rymfire Elementary School in Palm Coast, Florida. I currently work as the art teacher at Crookshank Elementary School in St. Augustine, Florida. From my time as an actual teacher for grades k-5, I've learned how to manage a classroom on my own and how to instruct diverse students. Though some days are better than others, I learn from my experiences and have grown into a better teacher because of them.
Overall, after teaching kids art both in person and virtually, I feel so fulfilled when students produce work that they love and that is meaningful to them. I hope to inspire my students as much as they inspire me and I can't wait for my next opportunity!
